As we celebrate Memorial Day, I want to say a big “Thank You” to the men and women who have served our country, both past and present, who gave us the freedoms we have. We often don’t realize that we have the ability to do and act as we want: we can start our own businesses, we can dress and participate in any activity we choose, and we can go anywhere we desire all of which occur if we live within our means.
So, on this day of freedom, I hope you will take time to say a prayer of thanks for all that you have in your life, in practicing gratitude, and decide that you will keep these freedoms in mind as you go after all that you desire in your life. It’s yours for the taking but recognize that it will take some planning and hard work to get there but the result will be worth it.
Appreciation is a bit different than gratitude; appreciation is recognizing the value in something and results from being thankful, which is what gratitude brings awareness to. Both help to point out qualities and actions that can often get overlooked.
When we take time and go deep into all that we not only have, i.e. relationships, finances, career, etc. , but in recognizing what is within ourselves. Appreciating your qualities, skills, abilities, aptitudes, passions – quirks and all – will enhance your self-efficacy (self-belief) and lead you to going after the very things you want.
Appreciate the freedom you have- the main one is freedom of thought. You have control over how you think about our life, which encompasses all aspects, as mentioned earlier. Having a positive outlook leads you to doing and achieving more.

Coaching Action Plan
Today, practice gratitude by writing down all the freedoms you have in your life. Also decide how you will use those freedoms to accomplish your goals in both your personal life and your business life – June starts tomorrow so this would be the perfect time to relax, think and plan for the next month’s goals.
