Getting to the Winner’s Circle

Another week has begun – does time seem to be moving faster these days? This means that it’s time to “hit the gas” and rock these next few weeks.

.  Whatever is on your ‘To Do’ list can get accomplished – if you make the decision and commitment to get them done and you take massive action.  I think we often over-complicate things, making them seem impossible to achieve. Chunking your tasks down, in the spirit of Kaizen, will help them seem less threatening and easier to get started on; this way, the work won’t seem so tedious and you will find you actually enjoy the journey.

To put the ‘pedal to the metal’ and leave 2020 on a high-note, here are 3 steps you can take to put you in the “Winners Circle:”

  1. Pick one or two goals that you really want to achieve this month; write them down as if you already completed them and then list the steps you took to get them done.  Don’t hold yourself back from listing any step – it’s amazing how creative you can get and those ideas will flow freely.
  2. Visualize your outcome – engage all your senses in this one as they are very powerful ‘tool’s that will get your motivation and drive going.  See the outcome you want, smell, hear, taste and touch any outcomes that fall into these categories as they will bring your desired goal into a  reality, making you want to do the work to get there.  Make a vision board or mind-map your goals and desires to help you keep the focus on them.
  3. ACT – nothing gets done without taking action to accomplish them.  No matter how small the step – again, the Kaizen way – it takes you one step further than you were yesterday.  Knowing that there are only a little less than two months to achieve these goals, why not throw caution to the wind, as the old saying goes, and act.  The feeling you get from doing is really exhilarating which leads you to want to do and act more.

While it can often seem scary to move in fast action I think you need to ask yourself if you want to stay in fear or to really have the things you have said you desire.  The quickest way to overcome a fear is to do the very thing that is causing you the fear.

Your Weekly Action Plan

Today, choose 1-2 goals that you want to achieve by the end of the year and put them somewhere you can see them.  Use the steps I’ve listed above to make them more tangible and put an end-date to get them done.  Daily, pick two tasks you can work on that will bring you one-step closer and do them; try to kick them out first thing in your day and then move on to the next.  Before you know it, they will be your reality.  Be sure to acknowledge your successes along the way and realize what a fear-less superstar you are!
