The Countdown is On – Preparing for 2021

“Things may come to those who wait, but only the things left by those who hustle.”   Abraham Lincoln

We are officially in countdown mode: the end of 2020 finally is nearing its end; with this, there is renewed hope and spirit as we welcome 2020.  I, myself, am hopeful about the new year and wondering what it will have in store.

However, I am not willing to just sit and wait for whatever may happen; I am taking steps into my hands and planning out what I want this next year to look like. I hope that you are, too.

The future can look any which way you want it to, but it is dependent on how you choose that outlook.  We can remain stuck or we can choose to make a plan for the things we desire; we can look at our life as one of events happening to us or we can own our part and move on.

We all have the power to create the type of life we want and to go after it; it doesn’t mean that there won’t be work involved. It means planning and taking action. Here are a few steps you can take now so you are ready for the new year:

1. Review – this is a great time to pull out those old goals, business plans, vision boards or the like and see how many you reached, as well as those you didn’t.  Look at what went well – what steps did you take to make those happen; if you didn’t get things done, what was going on in your life at the time, including your state of mind

2. Meditate – take deep breaths, get in a calm state of mind and let your mind wander as you focus on finally accomplishing those unfinished goals or in setting new ones.  Don’t worry if they seem to big at this time.  Allow yourself to feel the emotion as you “see” yourself achieving those goals

3. Plan – now is the time to write out your goal lists, both short and long-terms; you can prioritize by weeks or months as they should have a deadline to them.  Write down how you will achieve them, in as great a detail as possible. Define the start date, and put these up in a visible spot so you can see them daily

Once you have taken these steps, you can now sit back and relax a bit, enjoying the rest of the holidays while having eagerness to ring in the new year.  Keep focusing on that start date; enlist as much support as you need.

This would be a great time to hire a coach to help you focus, give you accountability and be the cheerleader you need down the finish line.  I’d love to help you be that accountability partner so call today to schedule your planning session – https://eliteleadershipsuccessinstitute.com
